Living in the Answer, Not in the Problem Jul 02, 2014
    Show notes

"You and I can have a problem-based orientation to life or a solution-based orientation to life. We can have a problem-based religion or an answer-based religion. St. Paul in this morning's letter to the Romans calls it a sin-based religion versus a grace-based religion..."

The Challenging and Transformative Peace of Jesus Jul 02, 2014
    Show notes

"To follow the way of Jesus, to build that beloved community that engages in transformative peacemaking, we need to begin with ourselves and make that transition internally. It can be taxing and overwhelming work if we do not have a way to sustain ourselves, and if we are not centered in our own sense of belovedness before God."

    Pentecost Updated Jun 09, 2014
    Show notes

"Pentecost, with its brilliant proclamation of our common humanity, can still illuminate our path to peace. It would be a betrayal of everything our faith has taught us to believe about God, to believe about our common humanity, if we were to lose hope in the possibility of peace among all people throughout the world."

Doing Greater Things Than Jesus Did May 25, 2014
    Show notes

"To the degree that you and I can do our internal work to lay aside the individualistic salvation projects we have for ourselves and for others and live into the win-win world of grace, then Jesus says, "You will do greater works than these that I have done. Simply get yourself aligned with the character of grace that lives between God and me and ask whatever you want in line with our character of grace and we will do it for you.'"

    Aligned with God's Love May 25, 2014
    Show notes

"The short answer is that God so loved the world that God became one of us in order to show us how to love one another. The slightly longer answer is that Jesus came to show us the way--spent his earthly live modeling the way--and that way is to be so aligned with God's love, so connected to God's love, so empowered by God's love that nothing--not even death--can get in the way."

Life Really Can Get Better and Better! May 15, 2014
    Show notes

"The call of life and the key to abundant life is to let this Love, this Belovedness, this grace-filled resonance be our home base, our emotional and spiritual headquarters as a way of keeping us receptive not reactive. This resonance with God, with our self, and with others is out center. This is what is meant for us..."

When Your Heart Beats Fast May 07, 2014

"The God that fails is the God who hates, who punishes, who creates more violence. The God who prevails, the Easter God is the God who transforms. Damaged people damage people. Transformed people transform people. All pain that is not transformed is transmitted. That is what God knows to be true."
