Show notes
Gary and Tyler dive deep into the latest releases from the heavy music scene. The episode kicks off with a discussion about Lakeview's latest album, which features a guitarist with Christian hardcore roots. The hosts are split over its autotuned sound but highlight the involvement of Cody from Wage War, who helped write and produce the album, adding an interesting twist to the country rock vibes.
The main attraction is August Burns Red’s new single "Exhumed." The hosts are thrilled that the band returned to their roots, delivering a heavy, classic metalcore sound with chunky guitar riffs and powerful breakdowns. This new track evokes nostalgia for August Burns Red's earlier work, and the hosts can’t help but wonder if the band will play it as an encore at Furnace Fest.
Another highlight comes from the band Underoath, who dropped a new track, "Teeth." While it strays from their traditional metalcore style and flirts with electronic influences, Tyler appreciates the genre-bending, while Gary struggles with the shift.
The episode also features music from up-and-coming Christian metal acts like Floodgate, Forthteller, and Take, showcasing their intense spirit-filled hardcore anthems. The hosts encourage listeners to check out these fresh releases, predicting that these bands will become household names in the Christian metal community.
The hosts end on a note of gratitude, celebrating the tight-knit community of Christian metal enthusiasts who engage with their content and provide invaluable feedback.
