Aftershock vs. GoldenSky: A Festival Showdown (Ad Supported) Oct 22, 2024

In this episode of the Mikey Podcast, I’m comparing Aftershock and GoldenSky, two massive festivals in Sacramento. I break down the differences between the festivals’ atmospheres, crowds, food options, and how the festivals cater to fans. Aftershock is a beast of a rock festival, delivering chaotic energy, epic performances, and a chill VIP experience. Meanwhile, GoldenSky feels more like a fashion show, where attendees are more concerned with their Instagram shots than the music. Both festivals are produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, but they couldn’t be more different. I’ll share my thoughts on what makes each festival unique, which one I think reigns supreme, and how both could better embrace their local Sacramento roots.

Intro: Recap of Aftershock and GoldenSky weekends
Festival Rundown: What’s Aftershock? What’s GoldenSky? How do they compare?
Crowd Differences: Metalheads vs. country fans—who’s more respectful?
Food & Drink: Aftershock’s food trucks vs. GoldenSky’s legit bars
VIP Experiences: Aftershock’s chill VIP vs. GoldenSky’s crowded fashion parade
Local Connection: GoldenSky’s embrace of Sacramento vs. Aftershock’s disconnect
Funny Moments: Festival madness, blanket drama, and porta-potty proximity issues
Final Thoughts: Why Aftershock wins, what GoldenSky does better, and how both could improve
Closing: Thanks to Danny Wimmer Presents and a preview of what’s next on the Mikey Podcast

This episode dives into the 10 propositions on California's ballot this election season. Mikey pulls no punches while dissecting each measure, from school bonds and rent control to healthcare tax hikes and crime laws. He exposes how California politicians keep asking for more money while promising solutions to problems they’ve been "fixing" for decades. Get ready for some sarcasm, hard truths, and a chance to win tickets to Aftershock or Goldensky.

Podcast Notes:

Proposition 2: School bonds—$10 billion for school repairs; will they finally fix it this time?
Proposition 3: Marriage equality update—removing outdated language in the California Constitution.
Proposition 4: Water and wildfire bonds—another $10 billion for climate change and infrastructure.
Proposition 5: Local government bonds for housing and infrastructure—lowering the voter threshold to 55%.
Proposition 6: Ending involuntary servitude in prisons—human rights reform or chaos waiting to happen?
Proposition 32: Minimum wage hike—raising it to $18, but at what cost to small businesses?
Proposition 33: Rent control—trying to fix the housing crisis by making it worse.
Proposition 34: Prescription drug revenues—sounds good, but it’s another bureaucratic mess.
Proposition 35: Making a temporary Medi-Cal tax permanent—because when has the government ever let a tax expire?
Proposition 36: Bringing back felony charges for repeat offenders and tackling the fentanyl crisis.

This episode explores the bombshell indictment against Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, covering charges from racketeering and drug trafficking to sex trafficking and bizarre "freak offs." Mikey breaks down the rumors about Diddy blackmailing music industry giants and whether the raids on his properties will lead to his downfall. Mikey connects Diddy's alleged crimes to the shadowy world of high-profile scandals, drawing parallels to Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous legacy. We also dive into theories that industry giants like Clive Davis and Lucian Grainge may have had a hand in orchestrating Diddy’s downfall. The Deep State’s Game Plan: Discussion on the Deep State's tactics, including smear campaigns and even assassination attempts to remove Trump from the race.
First Assassination Attempt – Bullets in Butler:
- Recap of the Butler, Pennsylvania rally where Trump was grazed by a bullet, resulting in the death of firefighter Corey Comperatore. Mikey emphasizes this was a deliberate hit, not a random act.
Kamala Harris Steps In:

Second Debate – A Scripted Shitshow:
- Highlights from the Kamala vs. Trump debate, where ABC moderators showed clear bias in favor of Harris. Mikey calls out the lack of impartiality and the overly scripted nature of the event.
