    After Party with Emily Jashinsky

“After Party” hosted by Emily Jashinsky is a true unicorn in the new media space. Emily is a Washington, D.C.-based journalist who’s covered everything from The White House to Hollywood to Mexican cartels. Emily’s career as a journalist has spanned hosting roles from “Breaking Points” to “UnHerd” and in the summer of 2025 Emily partnered with Megyn Kelly and the MK Media network to get the Party started!

Now you can listen to Emily host substantive discussions on media, politics, and pop culture every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. “After Party” is a place where guests from across the ideological spectrum are encouraged to engage, not rage. This “After Party” is a civilized affair, the kind of low-key night you have with your real friends after everyone else goes home. Think of it like spending time with familiar faces who leave you informed, entertained, and ready to come back for more.

Emily also hosts “The Megyn Kelly Wrap-Up Show” on SiriusXM, recapping Kelly’s daily program with live caller interaction.

    Show notes

On this week’s edition of “Happy Hour” Emily begins with comments about her skepticism of concentrated power, why she can’t work in politics, why different generations are so polarized in their media consumption, and she answers a thought-provoking question comparing modern media to a derivatives market. She also responds to a series of comments and questions on the Iran war, President Trump’s handling of it, and the break between the young and old on Israel. She dives into her debate with Dave over his claim the U.S. is arguably the worst terrorist organization, why she disagrees with him on that, and why she believes America must be different from the ‘bad guys.’ Emily also explains why she likes people like Ana Kasparian who are willing to challenge power and details the hate Ana gets from her own side that some may not realize. The emails continue with thoughts on President Trump’s legacy and how the assassination attempts may have impacted him emotionally. Emily rounds out the show with a question about family and how to build faith when you’re questioning, and a lighter question about her favorite music.

    Show notes

Emily Jashinsky opens the show with a look at the identity politics that continues to infect our discourse with a peak example coming over the weekend out of Canada’s NDP convention as activists get into arguments over pronouns and “equity” procedures. They also talk about a new POLITICO poll that shows frustration among MAHA-aligned voters and what Emily and Shelby’s own sources are saying, and NBA legend Charles Barkley sparking debate after using a March Madness broadcast to criticize how immigrants are being treated. Next Emily is joined by Washington Post columnist Jason Willick to discuss the importance of deterrence in both Capitol Hill politics and war, PLUS Washington Free Beacon reporting on Democratic Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed saying he needed to stay silent on Khamenei killing because many of Michigan’s Muslim voters ‘are sad.’ Emily rounds out the show with a look at the wave of legacy media figures leaving for independent platforms and whether that model is sustainable long-term.
