Episode 8 - The Donavon Episode Aug 13, 2020

Show notes

A year and a half ago I met a young and talented artist/producer by the name of Donavon. Being over a decade his senior, I try to share as much knowledge with him as I can. I also learn a ton from him as well. I mastered his newest single "Rudechild"... He's also the only feature on my upcoming album "Someday We'll Have A Party." On this episode we talk about his creative process, his Flatbush upbringing, gospel music, what it means to be an artist in these modern times, and the reasons he started his own Patreon. Great heartfelt convo!

Episode 7 - The Odd Bars & Time Signatures Playlist Aug 11, 2020

Show notes

Called up Frequency (@freqshowmusic) and ran down a playlist of hip-hop songs that have odd bar counts and non 4/4 time signatures. Definitely an episode/playlist (Playcast?) for the music nerds. Warning: there's a LOT OF COUNTING in this episode.

Episode 6 - The 1981 Playlist Aug 05, 2020

Show notes

On this episode we kept the playlists going. We took it back to 1981. What a year for music. I called up @goodreverenddr and I shared with him a playlist I made of mainly uptempo r&b/funk/soul/boogie jams that were rocking in 1981. We had a blast.

Episode 5 - The Posse Cut Playlist Aug 03, 2020

Show notes

I made a posse cut playlist in the middle of the night. Heavily centered around the late 90's NYC era where the posse cut was bountiful. I ran through the playlist with the Good Reverend Dr! I also called Mr. Tibbs and we talked about... posse cuts, and him re-locating to Vermont.

Let me know what your favorite posse cut joints are, and if I missed any! Here's a link to the posse cut playlist:
