    A Home That Heals

When it comes to healing the brokenness, trauma, hurt, and even scrapes and bruises our families experience – our homes should be the first and best place where healing can occur. Family is the structure God provided for all the things we need to be healthy, joyful people. So it makes sense that he will help us create homes that heal. This podcast will focus on the things God gives us as tools – His truth, time, food, nature, animals, and relationships.

    Episode 143: My Child's Identity Isn't In An Acronym Oct 10, 2022
    Show notes

What forms our child’s identity? How do we help walk alongside them and teach them who they truly are rather than allowing the definition of who they are be tied to a diagnosis, acronym or how others see them. Another important question is where we find our identity and how are we modeling for our children who and what defines us.

    Episode 142: 40 Hours A Week Worrying? Oct 03, 2022
    Show notes

Something we read recently hit us like a 2x4 …. It was a “news” story -here’s the headline Parents Spend Nearly 40 Hours a Week Worrying About Their Children. Wow! That's a full time job, but probably pretty accurate considering Dee was a news anchor for 40 years and read plenty of stories that planted seeds of worry. Is there a better way we can spend those 40 hours a week? How do we do that in the age we live in right now? Those are just a few of the questions we grapple with on today's podcast. Join us as we seek a better answer to provide a home filled with more joy and less worry.

Episode 141: Powerful Stories To Infuse Your Home With Sep 26, 2022
    Show notes

Many stories depict parents as incapable, siblings as an obnoxious person to tolerate and life as unfair. That’s not the message we want to send our kids. We want them to hear stories of bravery in the face of adversity, peace in the midst of chaos, parents as the strong support God has placed in children’s lives, and siblings as a blessing. We love the power of story and have seen how it can create a healing home for our families. Our encouragement to you is to use the power of story to help make your family a team rather than another battleground.
“Stories constitute the single most powerful weapon in a leader’s arsenal.”
