This week, the Dude and the Bro give you our take on The Ringer Networks', "The Wire: Way Down in the Hole" podcast. The Anansi Chronicles Apr 15, 2020
    Show notes

This week we discuss and review a fascinating podcast that takes us into the world of Afro-Centric folklore. The Anansi Chronicles centers around the adventures of the mythological Kamau the Obayifo which according to lore is a half man, half beast-like vampire creature. We get glimpses of his existence through primary source logs of captains of slave ships among others from accounts of the early 18th century. The Anansi Chronicles combines "hardcore history" and dramatic thrilling fiction as we go along the harrowing journey from Africa to the "New World"

Also, in segment 2, we discuss some controversy on the Joe Rogan Podcast as he announces he would vote for Donald Trump over Joe Biden, and we tease a podcast that we could review in future episodes entitled, "The Cold War: What We learned" that takes a deep dive into the strained United States and Soviet Union relations that defined geo politics throughout the 20th century.

Dan Carlin's Common Sense: A Recipe for Caesar Apr 06, 2020
    Show notes

After almost a 2 year hiatus, Dan Carlin finally has released another episode of Common Sense. Distraught about the nature of today's political discourse, Dan continues to express his concern about the inevitable road that the divisive nature of American Politics has taken. In, "A Recipe for Caesar" does the Marius and Sulla divide that we currently seem to be, eventually get that someone to cross the Rubicon and give the United States of America a government is "deserves"?

Joe Exotic: Tiger King Apr 02, 2020
    Show notes

What's being stuck quarantined at home without discussing the seedy underbelly of the big cat trade specifically the Netflix sensation Joe Exotic? We were pleasantly surprised that Wondery's Joe Moore had been embedded with the Tiger King for some time interviewing all of the wacky characters that have taken the Cabin Fever stricken masses by storm. What a great way to supplement your NETFLIX binge with a great podcast that views the Tiger King from different perspective. This week we review Wondery's "Joe Exotic: Tiger King"!

Dr. Drew & Adam Carolla Take a Controversial Stance on Covid-19 Mar 24, 2020
    Show notes

On this episode, The Dude and The Bro have a spirited discussion about The Adam and Dr. Drew Show episode #1246 "Weakening The Herd." Adam and Dr. Drew over the last few weeks have made contrarian claims that the media is "over-sensationalizing" the Coronavirus epidemic and to paraphrase and condense their stance for lack of better words is that society is "getting soft", the media is creating unnecessary panic, and that "proclamation politics" have led to wild overreaction to the current situation. Will history be kind to the former Loveline Pair as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to grow on a daily and hourly basis and the death tolls rise? Or are these sensible and sober reactions to the situation as businesses shut down, people lose their jobs, and people and families become restless in their homes with no real plan in sight?

As we all remain quarantined with plenty of times on our hands, we give this weeks recommended podcast picks. Also, we give you the latest from our website www.primalstreammedia.com.

    Show notes

On this episode, The Dude and The bro discuss a history podcast that is ripped from the great headlines of yore: Throughline from NPR. We focus on a recent episode profiling the infamous Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. Did NPR and Throughline make a mistake by ignoring the decades long tumultuous history between the United States and Iran and beginning this story at 9/11?
