Three Guys Before The Game - It Is Over (Episode 104) Mar 26, 2019
    Show notes

In a span of 40 minutes, the most unique season in the history of WVU basketball came to a record setting ending. A team ranked 13th in the preseason polls finished with the most losses in school history.
The dream of a late-season resurrection and CBI championship ended instead with a record setting defeat. The Mountaineers 109-91 loss to Coastal Carolina established a new record for most points ever allowed by an opponent at the Coliseum.
A season mired in discipline problems which led to the dismissal of two players, also included the first half benching of WVU's leading rebounder Derek Culver for tardiness.
Brad Howe, Nathan Adrian and Tony Caridi discuss the game and an off-season that is expected to include major roster moves.
Who stays? Who goes? What must happen for WVU to return to its winning ways? Those topics and more on episode 104 of Three Guys Before The Game.

Three Guys Before The Game - Moving On (Episode 103) Mar 21, 2019
    Show notes

It's on to the quarterfinals of the CBI for the Mountaineer basketball team. Wednesday's 77-63 victory over Grand Canyon University advances WVU into a Monday home game against the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina.
Once again, WVU's youth movement was on full display with first-year players accounting for 66 percent of the total points.
    What's a Chanticleer?
The fellas (Brad Howe, Nathan Adrian and Tony Caridi) provide that answer plus an in-depth statistical breakdown of WVU's season before and after its well-publicized disciplinary dismissals.
In addition to celebrating Nathan's birthday, the guys also taste-test hot peppers donated by a loyal listener.

Three Guys Before The Game - Sooner Later (Episode 101) Mar 14, 2019
    Show notes

You would never imagine that following a 13 win team could be so much fun. However, the reconstituted Mountaineer basketball team continues raise eyebrows not only in West Virginia but also in Kansas City.
The Mountaineers 72-71 victory over Oklahoma in Wednesday's opening round continues to build the late season narrative that less is more when it comes to WVU. A team that won two games in 57 days has now won two of its last three. All nine players available saw action and played 10 or more minutes. It was the definition of a team win. WVU's victory over the Sooners leaves Oklahoma's NCAA hopes teetering.
The fellas (Brad Howe, Nathan Adrian, Tony Caridi) review last night's win and look ahead to tonight's quarterfinal tangle with second-seeded regular season co-champion Texas Tech.
The guys will be back with another episode on Monday.

Three Guys Before The Game - Let Them Cake (Episode 100) Mar 11, 2019

It's a special episode of Three Guys Before The Game - Let Them Eat Cake.
The 100th show features a review of the Mountaineers regular season finale, a preview of the Big 12 Championship, a debate on the league's postseason awards - the dissing of Derek Culver, and the most tasty assortment of food treats the guys could have ever imagined.
Regardless of what happens in Kansas City the Mountaineers will play again next week. Coach Bob Huggins confirms that WVU will participate in the CBI event. The fellas discuss the value of the tournament and what impact it will have on next season's team.
Enjoy the celebration and a sincere thank you from the guys for helping them reach 100 episodes.

Three Guys Before The Game - Changing Of The Guard (Episode 99) Mar 07, 2019
    Show notes

Like a time lapse video showing a flower blossom, the Mountaineer basketball team continues to transform before our eyes. Wednesday's 90-75 win over Iowa State created a 40-point swing from the first meeting when WVU fell in Ames 93-68 on January 30th.
How and why has a WVU team become more productive and efficient as its roster has gotten smaller? The most recent departure is junior James "Beetle" Bolden who has reportedly left the team. Bolden is expected to graduate this May.
The fellas (Brad Howe, Nate Adrian and Tony Caridi) pull back the layers of WVU's late season renaissance. Suddenly it appears coach Bob Huggins has the foundation prepared for a return to the upper shelf of the Big 12 conference.

Three Guys Before The Game - Vegemite (Episode 98) Mar 04, 2019
    Show notes

A step backward against the Sooners leads to defeat, but positives continue to sprout. Jordan McCabe earns Newcomer of the Week honors from the Big 12 after his record setting week.
The Mountaineer youth movement is in full force. First year players recorded 162 of a possible 200 minutes at Oklahoma.
With two games remaining, how will the Mountaineer basketball team close the final week of the regular season? How many of the current players will return next season?
The fellas dig into those questions plus open a very special gift package sent by a listener in Australia.
The Mountaineers return to action against Iowa State on Wednesday. Episode 99 will be released on Thursday.

Three Guys Before The Game - Addition Through Subtraction (Episode 97) Feb 28, 2019
    Show notes

In formal terms it's called relationship dissolution, a less formal explanation would be addition through subtraction. In an attempt to improve the efficiency of an organization or team, you must take something away. West Virginia's basketball team is becoming a case study that productivity does improve by subtraction.
Over the last three games, WVU's pared roster has been outscored by an average of two points per game. In the three games prior to the dismissal of Esa Ahmad and Wes Harris, WVU was losing by an average of 26 points per game. With three regular season games remaining, how much success can the new-look Mountaineers enjoy? The fellas breakdown Tuesday's record setting victory over TCU and look ahead to Saturday's game at Oklahoma.
In an attempt to distance themselves from the "Madagascar email" from episode-95, the guys also enjoy and rate a very special package of pepperoni rolls from Isaac-a loyal listener from Ohio.
