    Bye Bye Bye Week (Episode 143) Sep 30, 2019

    The Mountaineer football team is preparing to embark on one of its most challenging months in recent memory. WVU will play four games in October against teams that currently sport a combined 14-2 record.
    The first challenge takes place Saturday against 3-1 Texas. Many of the key performers in last season's dramatic 42-41 WVU win have departed. However, Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger returns. Ehlinger, a Heisman Trophy candidate, has thrown 15 touchdowns with just one interception. He's currently fifth nationally in total offense.
    The fellas (Brad Howe, Hoppy Kercheval and Tony Caridi) begin their breakdown of this week's game, recap last Saturday's four conference games, and offer a key number on WVU's performance as a home underdog.

    Sophomore guard Jordan McCabe joins Brad Howe and Tony Caridi for a preseason overview.
    McCabe, who becomes the first returning guest in Three Guys history, reviews the team’s summer tour to Spain and looks ahead to the coming season. He also reveals why Oscar Tshiebwe is the human Energizer Bunny.

    Summer is officially over and so is the Mountaineer football team's September schedule.
    WVU heads into its first bye week with a 3-1 record and 1-0 mark in Big 12 play. Saturday's win in Lawrence again displayed the Mountaineers ability to win the turnover battle and special teams category.
    Before looking ahead to four consecutive games against team's expected to finish in the top half of the Big 12, the Mountaineers get a week for self-scout and an opportunity to improve in several areas.

    The West Virginia Mountaineers and Kansas Jayhawks open Big 12 Conference play on Saturday and no one really knows what to expect. Both teams won their opening game, lost while playing poorly in their second game, and posted surprisingly easy wins over teams from the ACC last Saturday.
    So what should fans from both teams expect this week? The fellas discuss offense, defense, special teams, and the Les Miles factor. The guys also reveal the intriguing story of WVU defensive coordinator Vic Koenning and Kansas offensive coordinator Les Koenning. Yes, they're related but they don't agree on how you say Koenning.
