3 Guys Before The Game - Walking Into Fog (Episode 446) Feb 23, 2023
    Show notes

It's travel time for the Mountaineer basketball team.
WVU plays at Kansas on Saturday and at Iowa State on Monday night.
This final regular season road trip provides great opportunities and great challenges.
A win against either of the nationally ranked opponents would be invaluable to WVU's NCAA tournament resume. A pair of losses will leave them perilously close to missing the tournament.
In this episode, the "Guys" preview the matchups against the Jayhakws and Cyclones. Listener questions and comments complete the show.

Three Guys Before The Game - Cowboys Poked (Episode 444) Feb 21, 2023
    Show notes

Yes, the Mountaineer basketball team is still swinging.
Just two days removed from its worst loss of the season, WVU dealt an early knockout to Oklahoma State on Monday night on its way to an 85-67 victory.
The win keeps West Virginia's fragile NCAA hopes alive with three regular season games remaining.
In this episode, the "Guys" explain the good and bad in recent games against Texas Tech and the Cowboys.
Listener questions and comments complete the show.
Join the crew Thursday for their preview of upcoming games against No. 3 Kansas and No. 23 Iowa State.

3 Guys Before The Game - Texas Tech & Oklahoma State Preview (Episode 443) Feb 16, 2023
    Show notes

The margin of error for the West Virginia basketball team is very thin. (Really, really thin!)
The Mountaineers must win at least three of their final five games to have a legitimate chance for an invite to the NCAA tournament.
The first two obstacles are Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. WVU hosts the Red Raiders on Saturday and then entertains the Cowboys on Monday night.
They may not be "must-win", but losses in either game will be a massive blow for WVU's NCAA chances.
In this episode, Brad Howe and Tony Caridi preview the games and provide the key analytics for Mountaineer success.
Listener questions and comments complete the episode.

Three Guys Before The Game - Texas Two-Stepped (Episode 442) Feb 14, 2023
    Show notes

It was a trip to Texas the Mountaineer basketball team would like to forget.
Losses to No. 6 Texas and No. 9 Baylor put WVU's NCAA tournament chances into question.
The Mountaineers must win three of their final five games to meet the minimum requirement for consideration. That means WVU must record at least three victories over Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, No. 5 Kansas, No. 19 Iowa State or No. 12 Kansas State.
In this episode, the "Guys" recap the losses to the Longhorns and Bears. What happened? Can it be fixed?
Listener comments and questions complete the show.

Three Guys Before The Game - Cyclones Silenced & Texas Preview (Episode 441) Feb 09, 2023
    Show notes

West Virginia against Iowa State was not a pretty basketball game. Who cares?
It was a basketball game, not a trip to an art museum. The only thing that matters is who wins. WVU accomplished its mission!
The victory over the No. 11 Cyclones keeps West Virginia's hopes for an at-large to the NCAA tournament alive. However, the Mountaineers still have work to do. They must win at least four of their last seven games.
The next obstacle comes this Saturday when the Mountaineers play at Texas.
In this episode, the "Guys" present an analytical autopsy on why the Mountaineers beat Iowa State and preview this weekend's date in Austin.
Listener questions and comments complete the show.

Three Guys Before The Game - Sooners Stomped & Iowa State Preview (Episode 440) Feb 06, 2023
    Show notes

A big win calls for a BIG episode.
The "Guys" go into overtime with their recap of Saturday's win over Oklahoma and preview of Wednesday's date with Iowa State.
    But wait, there's more!
Former WVU standout Nathan Adrian joins the show from Italy with an update on his season for Unieuro Forli. The Morgantown native has returned from injury and is posting impressive numbers.
Listener texts and comments complete the show.

Three Guys Before The Game - Frog Kicked & Oklahoma Preview (Episode 439) Feb 02, 2023
    Show notes

The Mountaineer basketball team again finds itself in a precarious position. Tuesday's loss to No. 15 TCU makes Saturday's home game against Oklahoma extremely important for WVU and its postseason chances.
The Sooners romped over No. 2 Alabama last Saturday, but suffered a double-digit loss to rival Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
Which version of the Mountaineers and Sooners will show up Saturday night in the Coliseum?
In this episode, Brad and Tony breakdown the TCU loss and preview the game with Oklahoma.
Listener questions and comments complete the episode.

Three Guys Before The Game - Tigers Toppled & TCU Preview (Episode 438) Jan 30, 2023
    Show notes

Has the Mountaineer basketball team rediscovered the recipe for victory?
After losing five straight games in the Big 12, the Mountaineers have now won three of their last four. Saturday's triumph over No. 15 Auburn sends WVU into Tuesday's game at nationally ranked TCU with much needed momentum.
The Horned Frogs will enter the game with the status of leading scorer Mike Miles in question. He suffered a knee injury early in Saturday's loss at Mississippi State.
In this episode, the "Guys" review the win over Auburn and reveal the keys to a win over TCU.
Listener questions and comments complete the episode.

Three Guys Before The Game - Streak Snapped - Auburn Preview (Episode 437) Jan 26, 2023
    Show notes

The streak is FINALLY over. (Yeah!)
Wednesday's victory at Texas Tech gave West Virginia its first Big 12 road victory in over 700 days.
The streak-snapping 76-61 victory came in a most unconventional way. Consider that 65% of the Mountaineers offense came from reserve players, and that 68% of WVU's shot attempts were from three-point distance. Throw in 19 turnovers and you've got a weird win. But, hey it counts.
In this episode, Brad Howe and Tony Caridi perform the postgame analytic audit and preview Saturday's date with No. 15 Auburn. The Tigers (16-4) will be making just their second visit to the WVU Coliseum. It's the fifth meeting all-time between the two schools. The series is tied at two wins apeice.
Listener texts and comments complete the show along with an update of new locations to purchase West Virginia's hottest new craft beer "Kerchev-Ale".

Three Guys Before The Game - Texas Recap - Texas Tech Recap (Episode 436) Jan 23, 2023
    Show notes

The Mountaineer basketball team has 12 games to play in the regular season. However, this week's two games may go a very long way in determining this squad's fate.
WVU plays at Texas Tech on Wednesday and hosts No. 15 Auburn on Saturday. The results of those games will either give the Mountaineers hope or leave them hopeless.
West Virginia has just one victory in the last month.
In this episode, the "Guys" recap Saturday's loss to Texas and preview Wednesday's visit to Lubbock. The Red Raiders (10-9, 0-7) are in last place in the Big 12. WVU is currently in ninth place.
Listener questions and comments complete the episode.
