Born To Raise Hell: Richard Speck - Part 1 Oct 04, 2022
    Show notes

July 13th, 1966, was a scorching summer day in Chicago. As night fell, the residents of 2319 East 100 Street turned in for the evening, desperately seeking relief from the heat. Around 10: 30 pm, Corazon Amurao, a young nursing student, walked into the upstairs bedroom she shared with her roommate, Merlita.
She locked the door behind her and got ready for bed.
Corazon climbed to the top bunk and laid down..
About a half hour later, they heard four soft knocks on her door. She opened it, expecting to see one of their housemates, but a strange man stood on the other side. A tall man with combed back hair and a badly pockmarked face. He was dressed all in black and in his right hand, he held a gun.
In today's part one episode, we're talking about Richard Speck, one of the most infamous mass murderers in American history.

Terror at Fort Hood Sep 29, 2022
    Show notes

In a crime that the U.S Senate described as “the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil since September 11th,” Nidal Hasan carried out a brutal ambush on dozens of U.S soldiers.
The case of Hasan is an interesting one to say the least.
He was an Army Medical Corps psychiatrist yet clearly struggled with his own mental health in his six years in the job. Not only that, but he was observed by colleagues as having “anti-American” views which is curious considering he was serving in the U.S Army.
These views would worsen along with his apparent radicalization until they came to a deadly peak on November 5th, 2009.

The Professor of Murder Sep 09, 2022
    Show notes

Can someone truly be redeemed after committing one of the most heinous crimes? Friends, colleagues, and students of Professor James St. James say absolutely. Before he was a University professor, at 15 years old he murdered his family of three in their home, but the jury found him not guilty by reason of insanity. After this, he faded into obscurity and changed his life for the better.
But many don’t look at it as simple as this. Was James truly suffering from delusions? Or was he a master manipulator who used his intelligence to get away with cold-blooded murder…

    Wrong Uber Sep 06, 2022
    Show notes

Just like thousands of other college students worldwide, 21-year-old Samantha Josephson ordered an Uber after a long night out. However, she was spotted on security footage mistakenly entering a car that was not intended to be her ride. This was the last moment she was seen alive. It’s unclear the exact events that occurred after the car drove away, but when Samantha’s body was found the next day covered in stab wounds from head-to-toe, the police worked quickly to identify a suspect and a motive for such a crime. However, what they discovered seems to be much more sinister. Samantha’s attack appeared to be solely a crime of random opportunity that ended in her being completely brutalized.
This is the frightening death of Samantha Josephson.

The Tragic Case of Sky Metalwala by Talk Murder With Me Aug 25, 2022
    Show notes

Hi everyone, this is Natalie from Talk Murder With Me. Thanks so much to Joe for featuring one of my episodes on his podcast. I hope you enjoy it.
The Tragic Case of Sky Metalwala
Bellevue, Washington. November 6, 2011. Sky Metalwala's short life was tragically sad. At just 2-years-old, he had already been through a lot. His parents, Julia Biryukova and Solomon Metalwala, were going through a bitter divorce and custody battle over him and his 4-year-old sister Maile. One morning in early November 2011, Sky woke up feeling unwell, so Julia decided to take him to the doctor. On the way there, she ran out of gas. She parked on the side of the road and walked to a nearby gas station, leaving Sky in the car. When she got back to her car, Sky was nowhere to be found. When Julia told the police her story, however, it didn't add up. They had a lot of questions, but Julia refused to talk. Eventually people began to wonder whether Sky had ever been in that car at all that morning...

Mont Vernon Thrill Killing by True Crime New England Aug 23, 2022
    Show notes

We're Liz Corey and Katie King from the podcast True Crime New England. We cover cases out of six of the "safest" states in the country, from crimes that made national news to cases that you may have never heard of. We are so excited to be guest hosting an episode of Ten Minute Murder, and we will be telling a brief and bingeable version of the Mont Vernon Thrill Killing.
11-year-old Jaimie Cates and her mother, 42-year-old Kimberly Cates, were brutally attacked in their Mont Vernon, New Hampshire home in the early morning hours of October 4th, 2009. Jaimie was able to survive by pretending to be dead, but her mother was fatally stabbed over 32 times with knives and a machete. Authorities had no idea who could have done this until a teenage boy told his mother he needed to talk with the police. His friends, 17-year-old Steven Spader and 19-year-old Christopher Gribble, had come to him bragging about the attacks, and the horrifying story unfolded from there.
If you are interested in hearing more about this case or other true crime cases based out of New England, you can connect with us on our social media and tune in wherever you like to listen.

The Crossbow Cannibal Aug 16, 2022
    Show notes

The frightening true story of the Crossbow Cannibal seems entirely fictional. Through 2009 and 2010, Stephen Griffiths brutalized three women in West Yorkshire, England. After murdering each one with his crossbow, he dismembered them and even consumed parts of them, before dumping their remains in a nearby river. Fortunately, due to his ignorance and desperation, he was captured on camera as he murdered his last victim.
This is the chilling origin story and case of the Crossbow Cannibal.

    I-95 Killer Aug 11, 2022
    Show notes

Serial murderer Gary Ray Bowles spent the year of 1994 charming men in gay bars by offering them sex in exchange for money. Once in their homes, Gary would surprise them by bashing their head in with whatever object was nearest to him. More horrifying, though, was when he’d finish them off. Most of his victims would suffocate from having various objects shoved down their throats.
Gary slayed six men, but the police knew exactly who he was just after the first murder. It would take them eight months to finally identify him as what they called the “I-95 Killer,” but only after Gary revealed himself to them.
How was he able to conceal his identity and evade police, even when sitting directly across from them? Today we’ll discuss how Gary was able to do this, and why he’s remembered as one of the most horrific killers police had ever encountered.
