Whether you're familiar with cryptocurrencies or not, you've likely heard that President Trump launched a meme coin bearing his own name shortly before his inauguration. "Trump Coin" rapidly became one of the world's most valuable meme coins, achieving a market cap of over $10 billion at its peak. However, by March 7th, its value had plummeted by more than 80% from the all-time high.
During his campaign, Trump actively courted pro-crypto voters, promising favorable policies for the cryptocurrency industry. Since Trump's win in 2024 election, notable developments include Bitcoin surpassing the $100,000 mark, Trump's appointment of venture capitalist David Sachs as his "Crypto and AI Czar," and the recent executive order establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve—actions that align closely with his campaign promises. Yet, amidst recent volatility in both stock and crypto markets, we must ask: Is the Trump administration genuinely reliable for the crypto sector? The continued downward trend in cryptocurrency prices observed on March 7th has prompted investors to reassess the true effectiveness of the administration's crypto policies.
Full disclosure: Every participant in this podcast invested in Trump's meme coin, personally experiencing its dramatic price fluctuations. Through sharing our firsthand experiences with the rise and fall of Trump Coin, we aim to examine and discuss the broader impact of the Trump administration on the cryptocurrency landscape.
Note: The first half of this episode was recorded on February 10th, with additional recording completed on March 9th.

Donald Trump has marked 50 days since retaking office as President of the United States. Compared to his initial "ragtag" team when he first entered the White House, the Trump administration 2.0 is evidently much better prepared: extensive personnel changes, reshuffling of numerous federal agencies, significant moves by DOGE targeting various departments, and a vigorous purge against the "deep state." How will these forceful measures reshape presidential authority and impact the American political system? With shifting economic conditions and public sentiment, is Trump's honeymoon period over?

On February 28, 2025, a fierce confrontation erupted during a White House meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. What was originally intended as a televised discussion to sign a US–Ukraine minerals framework agreement and advance the peace process quickly devolved into a live broadcast debacle, with Trump and Vice President Pence harshly reprimanding Zelenskyy.
This conflict will have far-reaching implications for US-Ukraine relations, the Russia-Ukraine situation, and the EU’s security strategy. We discussed this event and its impacts together with Pang Huahua, the host of the “Research Research” podcast.

On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump made his historic return to the White House as America's 47th President. The crucial 72 hours surrounding this power transition witnessed a series of dramatic developments: from TikTok's fight for survival to the Gaza ceasefire agreement; from Biden's unprecedented preemptive pardons to Trump's venture into cryptocurrency.
In this episode, we examine the pivotal events that marked both the transition period and the inauguration ceremony. The Trump administration's first-day actions boldly reaffirmed the "America First" agenda—ranging from declaring a national emergency at the border to overhauling immigration policies, from the symbolic renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America," to the sweeping pardons for January 6 participants. Join us as we navigate through this new era of uncertainty and transformation.

TikTok reaches a critical juncture this weekend. Following the Supreme Court's unanimous 9-0 decision to uphold the ban, the social media platform—home to 170 million American users—has announced it will shut down operations on January 19. Donald Trump, who originally championed the TikTok ban, could now emerge as its ultimate savior. These developments are unfolding during a sensitive transition period between administrations. While the Biden administration has declared it won't enforce the ban in its final days, the incoming Trump team has indicated it will seek administrative measures to keep TikTok operating in the US.
In this episode, we'll examine this unprecedented situation: What led to the Supreme Court's unanimous ruling? What are the calculations behind Trump's changing position? And when congressional legislation and Supreme Court decisions face potential selective enforcement by the president, how might this reshape America's political landscape? Join us as we witness a pivotal moment that could transform the future of tech regulation in the United States.

Jimmy Carter has passed away as America's longest-living president. In this episode, we examine the legacy of this "outsider" president: from his early political rise in Georgia to his unexpected victory in the 1976 election; from his complicated relationship with Congress to his contentious presidency.
Why is Carter considered America's first neoliberal president? How did his once-controversial foreign policy decisions come to be seen as visionary? What led to the Carter administration's repeated setbacks in addressing the energy crisis and inflation? What role did this Southern politician play as the Democratic Party shifted from the New Deal Coalition to neoliberalism? Join us as we reassess this often oversimplified and misunderstood American president.

If we had to name the most influential and controversial figure in Silicon Valley in 2024, few would come close to Elon Musk. Whether it's through companies he founded, like Tesla and SpaceX, or the series of bold moves he made after acquiring the social media platform Twitter, followed by his recent conservative shift, Musk firmly holds the top spot on Silicon Valley’s list of talking points.
This larger-than-life tech leader is a bundle of contradictions. Supporters see him as the savior of Silicon Valley, a true genius who’s unafraid to break free from conventional thinking. But critics argue that he’s impulsive, selfish, misogynistic; an arrogant clown. Whichever side you’re on, there’s no denying Musk has gone beyond being just another business mogul — he’s become a public figure, a myth, and a kind of cultural metaphor for our times.
What kind of person is Musk, really? How should we assess him? What can we learn about Silicon Valley’s current discontents from his biographies, the media coverage, and his obsession with controlling his own narrative? In this episode, Anrui, Matthew, and Yiwen — along with guest Afra, attempt to peel back the layers of mystique around Musk, to uncover the essence of his character.
Despite Trump's sweep of all seven swing states and Republican control of both chambers, their margin in the House proved far narrower than expected. In this episode, we delve into the shifting dynamics of this election: from controversies surrounding California's prolonged vote counting to Speaker Johnson's challenges within his party; from the enigma of Latino voting patterns to Democratic performance in state elections.
With a precarious House majority and a complex Senate landscape ahead, can Republicans effectively advance Trump's policy agenda? How will state Supreme Court elections and evolving local political dynamics reshape America's political terrain?
