Welcome to Reel History! On this podcast we talk about historical movies and television shows, anything that claims to be based on a true story, and we check – how bad did they mess it up? What was life actually like during that time period? That’s why we’re here – to separate the real history from the Reel History!
Hosted by two Irish history buffs and a Swede who doesn’t know anything about history. Part of the Shows What You Know podcast network. Follow us @Reel_History and don’t forget to rate and review on Apple Podcasts!
Combat Story is a podcast built on honest conversations with the men and women who lived it.
These are not scripted interviews or highlight reels. They are real accounts from veterans across generations, including infantry, special operations, pilots, JTACs, and more, sharing what it was like to operate in high-stakes environments where decisions carried real consequences.
Each conversation explores the path in, the moments that shaped them in combat, and how they carried those experiences forward into life after service.
The goal isn’t just to create content but to provide context, so the stories, decisions, and the people behind them are understood, preserved, and passed on.
Thank you for walking beside us!
Madames, Heauxs and Gigolos explores the fascinating history of sex work, events in sexual revolutions, people in history, other topics around sex, and the history of sex work. Heather’s research, Connor’s wit, and Anthony’s charm collide to bring a bi-weekly podcast celebrating the stories of courageous women and men who have been shunned by society because of their trade, sexual preferences, or free love thinking and still manage to become prominent people in history that you don’t learn about in school.

Lunatics Radio Hour is a non-fiction history podcast about the history of horror and the horror of history. Each episode explores real, documented events where fear, violence, survival, and the unknown shaped human lives and cultures. The show also traces how historical events influenced film, examining how real-world horrors became the stories and images that appear on screen.
Topics include dark history, psychological phenomena, folklore rooted in fact, and the historical roots of horror cinema. Most episodes focus on researched historical subjects. Occasional short fiction stories are included and clearly labeled.
If you’re drawn to the darker side of history and the real events behind horror films, Lunatics Radio Hour explores where history, fear, and cinema intersect.
The podcast edition of How to Start a War, the audiobook. Unlike any audiobook you’ve ever listened to, Michael Trapani immerses listeners in the dramatic events that led to the crime of the century – World War II and the Holocaust – documenting the actions of the criminals who carried it out.
A gripping blend of narrative storytelling and dramatized scenes and characters, How to Start a War feels like a Golden Age radio drama. Far from a dry history lesson, How to Start a War is a resonant and compelling story about what happens when good people do nothing to stop the worst evils while they still can.
The complete version of the story is available as an audiobook on Audible, Amazon, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, and wherever you get audiobooks.
