Stolen

Season 3: Trouble in Sweetwater Violence. Retaliation. Disappearances. The Navajo Nation is 27,000 square miles of remote terrain with just over 200 tribal police officers. This season on Stolen, Connie Walker’s investigation into the cases of two missing women leads her on a search for justice in a place where people say you can get away with murder. Reporting for Stolen: Trouble in Sweetwater was supported by the International Women’s Media Foundation’s (IWMF) Fund for Indigenous Journalists reporting on issues related to Missing & Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) with a concentration on women, girls, Two-Spirit, and transgender people. Season 2: Surviving St. Michael's Last May, investigative journalist Connie Walker came upon a story about her late father she'd never heard before. One night back in the late 1970s while he was working as an officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, he pulled over a suspected drunk driver. He walked up to the vehicle and came face-to-face with a ghost from his past—a residential school priest. What happened on the road that night set in motion an investigation that would send Connie deep into her own past, trying to uncover the secrets of her family and the legacy of trauma passed down through the generations. In Stolen: Surviving St. Michael's, Connie unearths how her family's story fits into one of Canada's darkest chapters: the residential school system. Season 1: The Search for Jermain In 2018, a young Indigenous mother named Jermain Charlo left a bar in Missoula, Montana, and was never seen again. After two years and thousands of hours of investigative work, police believe they are close to solving the mystery of what happened to her. We go inside the investigation, tracking down leads and joining search parties through the dense mountains of the Flathead Reservation. As we unravel this mystery, Stolen: The Search for Jermain examines what it means to be an Indigenous woman in America. Stolen is hosted by Connie Walker. Read More

Satanic Panic

Throughout the 1980s, Satanic cults were widely believed to be preying on children — torturing and terrorizing them as part of dark rituals. Across North America, there were hundreds of false allegations, scores of unjust criminal trials and countless lives torn apart. But never any real proof. By the early 90s, the panic reached the tiny Prairie town of Martensville, Saskatchewan. And nearly 30 years later, the people touched by it all are still picking up the pieces. So what happened? And why do so many still believe to this day? Uncover: Satanic Panic investigates. For the best in true crime from CBC, ad-free, visit apple.co/cbctruecrime. Read More

Reverie True Crime

Reverie—a word that evokes dreamy introspection, yet not all daydreams are serene. Sometimes, when our minds wander, they lead us into shadowy corners filled with intrusive thoughts, fears, and questions about the darker aspects of humanity. These unsettling reveries can spiral into haunting curiosity about the crimes, mysteries, and injustices that mark our world.

Paige shares stories of unspeakable crimes and their lasting impacts. She also speaks with survivors, victims' loved ones, and fellow storytellers, creating a space where the weight of these stories is honored with empathy and respect. Occasionally, Paige ventures into the realm of haunting, paranormal tales that blur the line between reality and nightmare.

Her goal is to illuminate the darkness, bringing attention to injustices, overlooked details, and the human stories woven into each crime. This podcast is not only about telling stories—it's about understanding them, confronting them, and, hopefully, learning from them.

You can email case suggestions and even your personal paranormal/strange and/or crime related stories to ReverieTrueCrime@gmail.com

Evil By Design

More than 80 women from around the world have accused the fast-fashion mogul Peter Nygard of rape, sexual assault and human trafficking in incidents across four decades and at least four countries. He denies it all, and claims his accusers are lying as part of a vast conspiracy. The Winnipegger had built a sprawling international retail empire over the past 50 years — but now, Nygard's professional achievements are being overshadowed by a sinister personal life, earning him the moniker, ‘Canada’s Jeffrey Epstein’. Host Timothy Sawa has been an investigative journalist at the CBC for more than two decades. For almost half that time, he’s been part of a team investigating Peter Nygard and defending his journalism in court. Now, he helms a new podcast that asks the key questions: Who are the women and men who have stepped forward? Which systems failed them? And how did Nygard get away with it for so long? Seven years later, Relisha has never been found. Through the Cracks investigates gaps in our society and the people who fall through them, and in this first season, host Jonquilyn Hill asks if Relisha’s disappearance was, as the city later claimed, unpreventable. From WAMU and PRX.
