Believed

How did Larry Nassar, an Olympic gymnastics doctor, get away with abusing hundreds of women and girls for two decades? Believed is an inside look at how a team of women won a conviction in one of the largest serial sexual abuse cases in U.S. history. It's a story of survivors finding their power in a cultural moment when people are coming to understand how important that is. It's also an unnerving exploration of how even well-meaning adults can fail to believe. Read More

Maculate Conception

Now in their third year of In-Vitro Fertilization treatment, we documented Abbe and Isaac's experience so listeners can hear first-hand the intimate struggles of a couple experiencing infertility. They share their hopes, dreams, doctors appointments, and late-night fights and reveal an up-close, personal, and sometimes funny look at a couple longing to become parents in real time. Abbe and Isaac Feder met in the summer of 2008. For Isaac, it was love at first sight. Eventually, Abbe got on board. They were engaged a year later, and got married because of their love for one another, and also because they wanted to have children. After hearing stories from friends: warnings from their own bumps along the road, and trying to be as supportive as possible, they felt sure this was not one going to be their story. As it turns out, their story became extremely complicated.ABBE MERYL FEDER is a writer, producer, and actress in Los Angeles. She’s an Artist in Residence at the Braid Theater in Santa Monica. Her struggle with infertility led to co-founding InCircle Fertility, a coaching business helping people navigate infertility. She is also a stylist, and is a recurring contributor to the blog What’s Up Moms. You can find her on social media at @absofstyle (instagram). She grew up on the mean streets of New York’s Upper East Side, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. She is an avid mahjong and card player, an escape room enthusiast, and has been called by many friends a true “balabusta.”  ISAAC FEDER is a film director and television showrunner. Recent projects include series for Netflix, Sony Pictures Television, Disney+, Amazon, and Fuse. He has directed shows for Comedy Central, VICELAND, Tru, YouTube Originals, and IFC, and has worked with Sacha Baron Cohen, Robert Smigel, Nikki Glaser, Ken Jeong, and Haley Joel Osment. His first feature film, the scripted comedy Sex Ed, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Feature Film at the Portland Film Festival. His short film produced for ESPN’s “30 for 30” series, AC Green: Iron Virgin, was an official selection at the TriBeCa Film Festival. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, and holds an MFA from the American Film Institute Conservatory. Isaac was born and raised in Chicago, and now lives in Los Angeles.  Read More

2038

What will life look like in 2038? Twenty years from now is not the stuff of science fiction, but it still sounds like it: flying driverless cars, an internet cold war, a Chinese world order. Given the pace of change we are currently living through, the world really could look dramatically different from today. Remember, twenty years ago, social media and iPhones and the Tea Party did not exist, Barack Obama had just started dabbling in state politics, the Clinton administration was loosening up its oversight of something called derivatives, New Orleans was still dry and the World Trade Center was still standing. 2038, a podcast from New York Magazine and Intelligencer, will explore 8 different visions of how we can expect to live in two decades. Each episode will feature an expert in subject areas from business to technology to politics to climate science and beyond, laying out a very particular vision of where we’ll be in twenty years—and who will then defend his or her predictions in conversation with Max Read and David Wallace-Wells.Read the Vox Media Privacy Policy here.
