African American Trailblazers in Virginia History – Producer Eric A. Futterman, WCVE

The African American Trailblazers program annually honors the African American contribution to the American story and the significant accomplishments of twelve heroic African Americans in areas such as the arts, sciences, politics, education, and business. African American Trailblazers was conceived as part of America's 400th anniversary celebration. These documentary vignettes represent the collaborative effort of several community, regional government, and corporate partners to highlight the historic contributions of African Americans that positively changed the commonwealth, our country, and the world. Emmy Award winner and producer Eric A. Futterman directed the vignettes. They tell the stories of twelve historic African American Trailblazers and describe other notable achievements since the first Africans arrived in Jamestown in 1619. Read More

Cultural & Heritage Studies Cultural Anthropology
Bachelor of Arts Degree Preparation (Foundation) This course has over 22 years experience in educating and training people in the multi-disciplined field of Irish Cultural and Heritage Studies. It is particularly suited to participants, both young and mature, who are impassioned by subject areas such as archaeology, history, folklore and the arts and who would like to materialise their interests into real employment potential.
In addition to its first-class tuition in the broad cross-section of Irish anthropological studies, it offers practical and professional instruction in the applied fields of interpretation, communication and management.
Many students look upon this course as an excellent foundation course for the Bachelor of Arts Degree (in UCC and other universities) and those who successfully complete this programme, not only attain their places at university, but go on to have outstanding careers there. Read More
