Limited Capacity

Limited Capacity is a collection of six short stories about the strange and twisted ways we interact with the internet, and with each other. Punctuated with dark humour and surprising twists, each episode blurs the lines between horror, thriller, mockumentary and satire. The stories take on digital appropriation, toxic positivity, a self-help podcast for people who hate self-help and a talking chicken. Each immersive episode is packed with intimate and jarring stories that are both completely familiar and somehow confoundingly alien. It’s like Black Mirror for your ears. From the fiendishly clever mind of Rob Norman, co-creator of the hit podcast Personal Best. Read More

Niver Niver Land

PRESENTED BY LAND O LAKES FOODSERVICE

Welcome to Niver Niver Land: a podcast that addresses massive change in the restaurant industry. The show is hosted by award-winning restaurateur Tim Niver – a local legend of Minnesota's Twin Cities – known for his involvement with fabled spots like Aquavit, Town Talk Diner, Saint Dinette, and Strip Club Meat & Fish. Today, he runs  Mucci's Italian in St. Paul. Tim sees a major problem with industry dialogue: nobody is having realistic conversations about the ongoing, unprecedented change. Many of those who work in the industry are still trying to wrap their heads around what has happened over the last two years. Today, Tim is ready to talk about these things – through his trademark wit and foolishness – so that we can better appreciate and preserve the cultural importance of restaurants.

We call her Emma | Tortoise Investigates

Emma is a high achieving, middle class girl from west London. She seems destined for a successful career in banking and a comfortable British life. Until she makes a decision that will come to define her. In 2001 Emma marries Bashar al-Assad - the now infamous dictator of Syria.

In the early days, people inside and out of Syria dared to hope. Alongside his beautiful, progressive wife, Bashar promised to modernise the country.

But when the Arab Spring reached Syria in 2011, Bashar's regime showed itself for what it really was: a brutal force, willing to capture and kill ordinary Syrians demanding change. And in all the years that a war raged on, Asma stands by her husband. She seemingly ignored the desperate pleas to stop her husband from killing his own people.

But what did she really know about the atrocities her husband’s government was carrying out? And what choices did she really have? Some people allege that she actually assisted the regime and cashed in on the war, that she herself is a war criminal. Others say she tried to run away but was trapped, held hostage by a regime who threatened her life and her children.

So, who is the real Emma?

We call her Emma is a 6 part original series from Tortoise Investigates and The Observer.
