    Show notes

In this special episode of the Rooted Parent podcast, Cameron and Anna welcome their friend and co-worker, Rooted's editor-in-chief Chelsea Kingston Erickson. They discuss their passion behind the project they co-edited: God with You: A 52-Week Devotional Through the Whole Bible for Teenagers. Chelsea is Editor-in-Chief for Rooted and previously served as a youth minister in New England churches for 13 years. She and her husband, Steve, live north of Boston with their two young sons. Chelsea holds an M.Div. and a Master of Theology (Th.M.) in Old Testament Studies, both from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is passionate about teaching teenagers biblical theology and helping them learn to study Scripture for themselves. Chelsea is co-editor of two of Rooted’s books (God with You: A 52-Week Devotional Through the Whole Bible for Teenagers and Longing for Christmas: 25 Promises Fulfilled in Jesus) and the author of The Bible’s Big Story in the Old Testament: Casket Empty Student Edition.

Ask the Experts: Resilience in Weary Lands with Tish Harrison Warren Oct 08, 2026
    Show notes

Cameron and Anna welcome very special Rooted friend Tish Harrison Warren to discuss something parents and teenagers need: resilience. Her newest book, What Grows in Weary Lands: On Christian Resilience is a balm for the soul of anyone who has had to persevere through seasons of spiritual dryness, a dullness of spirit or soul, or a season when God seems to be silent and inactive (good news: He is neither, but sometimes it can feel that way for years).

Tish Harrison Warren is a writer and an Anglican priest. Her books include the award-winning Liturgy of the Ordinary and Prayer In the Night. She is a former columnist at the New York Times and Christianity Today. A senior fellow with the Trinity Forum and an assisting priest at Immanuel Anglican Church, Warren lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and three children.

The Good News That We Will Be Glorified in Heaven Aug 27, 2026
    Show notes

In this final episode of the Good Good News season, Cameron and Anna talk about one of their very topics; the glorification we will experience in heaven with Jesus. Keeping heaven in our sights while we're on this earth helps us have a wiser perspective on what matters- and what does not matter- in this life. And of course the very best thing about heaven is being with Jesus forever!

The Good News That the Holy Spirit Sanctifies Us Aug 13, 2026
    Show notes

For some of us, the concept of sanctification carries a sense of burden or dread, as if responsibility for change lies with us. In this episode, Cameron and Anna dive into the Scripture for reminders that our sanctification is God's job, not ours. We are sanctified through the truth, in our relationship with Jesus, by the Spirit. Now that's good news!

The Good News That We Are Reconciled to God - And to Each Other Jul 23, 2026
    Show notes

Perhaps the most painful consequence of the Fall lies in broken relationships with God, with each other, with ourselves, and with creation. One of the incredible benefits of the gospel is that Jesus has made reconciliation possible! In this episode, Cameron and Anna explore this here-and-now, concrete benefit of the gospel of reconciliation–a gift we can experience in our relationships even now.

The Good News That God Adopts Us into His Family Jun 25, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode, Cameron and Anna discuss the riches of the doctrine of adoption. If parents can begin to grasp the reality that we are in fact God's adopted children, we can disciple our own children out of the perfect parenting of our heavenly Father, rather than the imperfect parenting of our earthly parents. Taking hold of the riches of our adoption- our status, our belonging, and our secure belovedness in God's family- all this is a true game-changer for parents who long to love their children well.

The Good News That We Have the Righteousness of Christ Jun 11, 2026
    Show notes

If Christian parents can begin to live out the truth that they have the righteousness of Christ and no longer have anything to prove, they will be free to love their children even more. In this episode of the Rooted Parent podcast, Cameron and Anna unpack the doctrine of justification. Of all the glorious benefits of our salvation (Psalm 103:2), justification is one of our favorites.
