Prather laid down his cross and picked up his crown on August 19, 2016. He was one of eleven children. Later on in life he formed “The Gospelaires” of Ripley, MS along with his brothers and very dear friends. After singing for many years, he was called to preach the Word of God. He obtained his Theology degree from Jackson Tennessee Seminary School. Throughout his ministry, he pastored Piney Grove MBC (Chalybeate, MS), New Salem MBC (Pontotoc, MS), and Pleasant Grove MBC (Grand Junction, TN). During that time he worked tireless providing for his family at Carrier Corporation in Collierville, TN for 35 years.
