On the morning of January 26, 2020, when Matt Mauser's wife, Christina, kissed him goodbye as she left to coach a basketball game, neither one knew this would be the last time they would see one another. Christina Mauser was one of the nine people killed in the helicopter crash that took the life of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others in Calabasas, California on that foggy Sunday morning. As Matt and his three young children try to put their lives back together after this terrible tragedy, they are faced with yet another setback as our world is forced into isolation. For this family, and others like them, the pain of losing an ever-so-needed support system is a challenge beyond imagination. On today's Tuesday People podcast, Mitch Albom interviews Matt Mauser and talks about his personal process of grief, how one can heal from a wound so deep, and how Matt envisions the days ahead.
We encourage you to visit Matt's band's website at www.tijuanadogs.com. And please check out this video for a beautiful love song he wrote for his wife, Christina, titled "Lost." The Tuesday People family wishes Matt and his family healing for a peaceful future.
