With that being said, next week will be our very first vacation! We are taking a week off to think about the direction of our show and how we can continue to live out our mission and passions. Her podcast, The Freedom Sisters interviews all women who have served our country. This has been an emotional week for America. A few days ago, basketball legend, Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter accident with eight others including his daughter, Gianna. The accident is tragic, heartbreaking, and gut wrenching. It kept me up on Sunday night thinking about the minutes between them realizing the helicopter was crashing and the parents onboard trying to console their daughters. It is the stuff nightmares are made of. In the wake of tragedy, I needed to find a way to process this and keeping going.

Keep moving in a direction that would matter. Today, I sit down and talk about how we can keep inspiring others. Keep your legend alive in your everyday life through taking your shot, finding your opportunity and possibility, and having the confidence and courage to create a life you love. No matter who you are, rich, famous, poor, or somewhere in the middle, tomorrow is not a promise. Make today matter.

Biz Series: Batch, Please! The Secret to Batch Working and Time Management Jan 21, 2020

Have you heard of Batch Working? It is a time saving hack that has helped me find more hours in the day to get all the things done. “Batching” is blocking out hours or certain amounts of time, and knocking out tasks that are similar in nature in one fell swoop. For instance, I batch my blog posts for meganstratton.com. I sit down, usually on a Saturday morning, and write around four or five blog posts. With coffee in hand, I sit at the kitchen table before my family is awake, and get in the head space to write. Once I start writing, it is so much easier to keep going than to try and write one blog post a week, come up with a topic, schedule time to write it, and get in a good flow. Batch work allows me to take care of WEEKS of content in an hour or so.

Batching has helped me understand how to put similar tasks together and knock them out more efficiently. Not sure how to get started? No worries! I break down my method of uncovering your target client so that after this episode, you have a clear path to who you want to reach. Susan Friedmann’s book title, “Riches in Niches,” is exactly right! You need to drill down to your niche/ target market and know what problems you can solve for that group of people.

I uncover my target client and even give her a super cool name. One of my biggest marketing secrets is to drill down five or more “layers” deep to identify a group of people that are hyper targeted and need my help! “But, Megan… what if we drill down too far and I exclude someone or repel someone from my product or service?” Don’t worry sister, we go over that too!
