Worlds Worst Grandfather Mar 26, 2024

Before heading off to the zoo with his family (where he’s figured out the way to save money on tickets, of course), Mike Dahl joins us for a quick chat. He suggest that Steve find a sleep camp, to help him with his nocturnal troubles. Mike for not utilizing the bell on his bicycle. Emmett got a mustard stain on his Lionel Messi jersey. The kids have been drinking Grandpa's orange juice. Steve is trying to move his production studio and podcast center into the bedroom, but he needs to find just the right table. Fat Tuesday Finisher Feb 21, 2024

It's Valentine's Day show, but we're recording the night before. Joe's father-in-law passed away recently. Rosie doesn't like the late show. Roger once walked in on Steve and Rick enjoying illegal party favors. Tea keeps Steve up at night and he once walked in on Roger and Carol. He then hid beneath a redwood picnic table for two days. Joe worked in the flower delivery business, although not for Fabbrini's. A new off-Broadway play about Mary Todd Lincoln is getting great reviews. Steve's friendly chats aren't as long or as heartfelt as Janet's.

The Slouch on the Couch Jan 26, 2024

Steve receives an economically worded and instructive email with ideas about how to obtain information on the Internet. He’s been tasting a lot of dirt these days. Steve has a bilingual morning, as he has finally had Rosie’s invisible fence repaired. He seems to have regained his childhood command of Spanish, and it’s been accompanied by all sorts of other recollections from his early years. Jon Bon Jovi and Abe Lincoln team with Steve and Brendan to comfort a despondent Dag, who imbibed a little too much at Simon’s last night, and derailed the Expo’76 set closer. Steve had to pump out his eight rain barrels, after the area was once again pummeled by heavy rains. Dag was distraught, but ultimately bemused, by a pricy tapas dinner in the city last night. Steve received an odd but somewhat amusing email from a former listener. Joe Gaspar joins us today, and confirms that his sister recently met Steve. We play a new song from friends of the show, The Baseball Project. It’s called Disco Demolition, and guess what… today is the 44th anniversary of that notorious and largely misunderstood event. The song features one of Steve’s favorite rhymes ever.

Today’s a great day to open up an orange soda and let your lawn grow. Steve recalls the magic of a Nesbitt’s Orange Soda on the sunshine-soaked California ocean afternoons of his youth. He and Janet attended Emmett’s baseball game and Steve’s running commentary was peppered with ideas to improve the game and speed up play. The $17,000 Guitar Apr 26, 2023

Steve goes to Guitar Center to return a faulty item and encounters some pushback from the tattooed employees. The event, while ultimately settled, spoils plans for a proposed cheeseburger dinner. The legendary bassist Flea has a tummy emergency, and the very same Target employees that fawned over him upon his arrival refuse to let him use the employee washroom. He pushes through a series of troubling events before relief arrives in the nick of time. Brendan sat in the bleachers for an unbelievable night at Wrigley Field. Dag poses the question: Would you give a foul ball or homerun you caught to kid?

Pat Dahl Tells All Mar 26, 2023

Heading into his final day at the condo, we are treated to a show-length visit from Pat Dahl. He’s set to join some friends for an extended spring break, and they’ve got plenty of steaks and canned tequila drinks. The Monk Bought Meth Nov 30, 2022

In a series of shocking discoveries, we learn that all of the monks in an entire monastery in Thailand tested positive for meth. Monks!
