The Sixth Death of the Faith – Fr. Sherry Interview – The Everlasting Man
Aug 30, 2022
The main focus of this mini-series has been the chapter of “The Everlasting Man” by G.K. Chesterton, called the “Five Deaths of the Faith.” Today we’ll dive a little deeper into that meaning and also look at what Fr. Sherry calls the “Sixth Death” of the Faith.

Interview: Fr. Alphonsus Maria on “The Story of Fr. George Kathrein”
Aug 18, 2022
“You will find here an uncommon life of a Redemptorist in the middle of the torment of Vatican II, the catastrophe of the 20th century. The damage it caused worldwide to souls, first the Catholic souls, then any soul … is beyond any imagination … Suddenly, the normal actions, the normal life turns into heroism. This example should give us joy and courage for our times.” – Bishop Bernard Fellay, FSSPX, Foreword
Pope Francis’ Apology in Canada: Was it wrong? Questions with Father #37 w/ Fr. Sherry
Aug 09, 2022
As the world and the media turned their attention to Canada last week for the visit of Pope Francis, many of our listeners had questions. So we spoke to Fr. David Sherry, District Superior of Canada for the SSPX, about 4 main topics regarding the so-called “penitential pilgrimage” of the Holy Father:
First: Should the Holy Father apologize on behalf of the Catholic Church – for anything? If so, under what circumstances, and for what things?
Second: Should the Holy Father have even visited Canada?
Third: It’s a common narrative these days to say that the Catholic Church colonized and forced native peoples – not just in Canada – to convert to Catholicism. Is this the practice of the Church? And specifically, did it happen in Canada the way it’s been reported?
And fourth: What are we to think of the Holy Father – or any pope, bishop, or priest – taking part in native ceremonies, such as accepting the gift of a native headdress, or being present during a native smudging or incense ceremony.
The answers to some of these questions may surprise you – and you may look at this situation just a bit differently afterwards.

Sacraments #18: New Rite of Holy Orders: Is it Valid? “A Mania for Change…”
Jul 29, 2022
Welcome to Episode 18 in our Sacraments series, our last episode on the Sacrament of Holy Orders – and our final full episode in the Sacraments Series. Fr. John McFarland is back to look at the New Rite of Holy Orders. Like we have seen in other episodes on the sacraments, we’ll have two areas of focus: First, is the sacrament itself valid, in terms of matter, form, minister, and intent? Second, we’ll look at what has changed, in the ceremonies surrounding the matter and the form. Does this new rite of Holy Orders give the same emphasis, theology, and understanding of the sacrament as the Traditional Rite? If not, can we see what the effects are from these changes – both in the lives of the new priests and the lives of the faithful? We’ll dive into that next.
The Future of the Redemptorist Missioners – Questions with Father #36 w/ Fr. Alphonsus
Jul 29, 2022
Today we’re pleased to speak with Fr. Alphonsus, a Redemptorist priest, about the Redemptorist order. We’ll be speaking with him about the history of this order – how does a Redemptorist differ from a normal parish priest, or a Jesuit or Franciscan? Also what are the particular charisms, or areas of focus for a Redemptorist – do they take vows? And finally, we’ll speaking with him about the future of the order – what role can the Society of Saint Pius X take in helping to continue this centuries-old tradition?
Sacraments #17: What is Ordination to the Priesthood? w/ Fr. McFarland
Jul 18, 2022
Fr. John McFarland is joining us today to first look at the traditional Rite of Holy Orders. We’re going to see the history, what is necessary – that is, what is the form and matter of Holy Orders – and then we’ll go through the entire ceremony. As we’ve seen with the other sacraments, this sacrament could easily be done in just a minute or two. But the ceremony of Ordinations to the priesthood is full of rich symbolism, teaching, opportunities for grace, and a beauty that is unparalleled. We’ll show sections of the ceremonies from this past June at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, so you can follow along as well.
Sacraments #16: Does the Church Say Mixed Marriages Are OK Now? w/ Fr. Loop
Jun 30, 2022
Fr. Loop is back to look at how a change in looking at the Catholic Church led to change in the understanding of marriage – which still today is having devasting consequences for Catholic families. How is it that efforts in the 1960’s to be more open to other Christian denominations has led to an openness to cohabitation, Communion for divorced and remarried couples, and a virtual blank permission for mixed marriages? Father will take us through the history, and through the intended – and unintended consequences of these seismic shifts.
Sacraments #15: Tracing a Change in the Ends of Marriage to its Horrible Consequences w/ Fr. Loop
Jun 18, 2022
What happens when you switch the order of two of the purposes of marriage? We’ll see why this shift happened, and what the reaction was. But first we’ll start with the consequences. Can this simple change explain the degradation of the modern family?
Sacraments #14: Why Marriage is a Crucifying Sacrament w/ Fr. Loop
Jun 06, 2022
Today we’ll be looking at the basis of marriage. We’ll look at its institution, and we’ll also look a the purposes of marriage – are there some that are more important than others? We’ll also look at what marriage is, in its essence. Is it a natural union, a supernatural union, or both? And what about the sacramental grace of this sacrament – is it different than the other sacraments in any particular way?
Sacraments #13: What’s Wrong with the Sacrament of the Sick? w/ Fr. Reuter
May 27, 2022
We’ll take last week's concepts and look at the new rite of this sacrament. Is it really preparing our loved ones for this most critical moments before eternity? Is it focusing the prayers of priest on the soul’s eternal salvation, instead of just on physical well-being?
Sacraments #12: Why Extreme Unction is a Joyful Sacrament w/ Fr. Reuter
May 17, 2022
While it can often seem that this sacrament is sad - and indeed, it is often given when a loved one is close to death - we'll look at what this sacrament can give a soul as it is about to enter eternity. And we'll see that instead of bringing sadness, it brings peace, and even joy to these final moments.
Sacraments #11: Concerns About the New Rite of Confirmation w/ Fr. Goldade
Apr 22, 2022
We’re going to approach this episode in two different ways – we’ll look at the teaching and the prayers surrounding the sacrament, then we’ll look at the specific characteristics of this sacrament, especially the matter and the form. Of all the New Sacraments, Confirmation is the one where there is most serious cause for concern.
How Should We Properly Date? – Questions with Father #35 w/ Fr. Gardner
Apr 18, 2022
The world has a very different idea about dating - so much so that it’s properly known in the Catholic sense by an entirely different word - courtship. So what is Catholic courtship, and how does it differ from the “normal” idea of dating? This is an episode that every young man or woman should review before they begin any sort of dating -- or courtship.
Sacraments #10: How We Can Be Perfect Catholics in Confirmation w/ Fr. Goldade
Apr 10, 2022
In this first of two episodes on Confirmation, we’ll first take a step back and look at the Institution of the Sacrament, its history, and why its practiced differently in the Eastern Churches versus the Latin Church. We’ll also look briefly at the Gifts of the Holy Ghost, the Matter and Form of Confirmation, and why the Church talks about the Perfection of Catholic Virtues in this Sacrament more than the others.
Interview: The Inspiring True Story of Fr. Marco Tilosanec
Apr 05, 2022
This past winter, we spoke with Father Marko Tilosanec, a Croatian priest who has a fascinating story. He was ordained a priest in the standard diocesan structure in Croatia – even before his ordination, he began to seek out more information about tradition. After his ordination, he experienced difficulties while attempting to follow his conscience...

Sacraments #9: The Gravely Insufficient New Mass w/ Fr. Paul Robinson
Mar 21, 2022
Father Paul Robinson will join us to look at each aspect of the New Mass, and how it constitutes a gravely insufficient way of adoring the Holy Trinity. We’ll be using clips from a couple Novus Ordo Masses to illustrate each section that Father is discussing – and to be as fair as possible, we will mainly be looking at a fairly reverent, common Novus Ordo Mass. It would be easy to find a New Mass with dancers, bands and light shows – but we’re trying to illustrate that at its core, the prayers and rubrics of the priest are a striking departure from Catholic theology.

What happens if a pope speaks heresy? This has been a topic of controversy over the course of the pontificate of Pope Francis, and it has only grown following a recent audience given by the Holy Father where he indicated that the Catholic Church includes heretics, apostates, etc.

Sacraments #6: Why No One Cares About Confession Anymore – With Fr. David Sherry
Feb 11, 2022
Today we’ll look at the new understanding of the Sacrament of Penance. To do that, we’re going to take a step back, and see how much of the hierarchy in the Church today sees sin differently, or at least there’s a different emphasis. Then we’ll see how that impacts the Sacrament of Penance. We’ll also take a moment to see how the rite has changed.
Sacraments #5: Why Do We Confess Our Sins to a Priest? With Fr. David Sherry
Feb 05, 2022
We’ll take a magnifying glass to Penance today. To do that, we’ll start by looking at the concept of sin itself. Then we’ll look at the penitent, and the priest. What is Father looking for when he asks us those questions in the Confessional? And why do we have to do a penance afterwards? Fr. Sherry will walk us through the traditional form of the Sacrament of Penance
Why the Family Meal is Vital for Catholics – Questions with Father #29 w/ Fr. Gardner
Feb 02, 2022
On this episode, we’re happy to welcome Father Nicholas Gardner for the first time, to answer a question about the family meal – the question was concerning whether or not it’s really that important. The answer, yes. But Father will explain how it’s not just good for the family, but it’s good for the practice of virtue as well, and how this simple action can keep a family stronger, closer, and holier.
Sacraments #4: Why the New Rite of Baptism is Deficient
Jan 28, 2022
Father Wiseman will join us again, this time to look at the New Rite of Baptism. While the sacrament in both the old and the new rites are valid, nearly every other aspect of the new Rite – all the sacramentals, blessings, prayers, and exorcisms, have either been removed or drastically changed. Why? And if these things have been removed or changed, what has replaced them?
Sacrament Series #3: The Traditional Rite of Baptism w/ Fr. Wiseman
Jan 21, 2022
Father Alexander Wiseman, professor at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary is joining us for the next two episodes, first to look at the Traditional Rite of Baptism. As you’ll see, it is so much more than simply pouring water, and saying a few words of the formula. The Church has filled the ritual with exorcisms, symbolism, and graces for the benefit of the new Christian being Baptized.

Sacraments Series #2: Common Errors About the Sacraments
Jan 14, 2022
Today we’ll have Fr. Paul Robinson back to look at some of the common errors – some of the heresies that have arisen over the centuries about the Sacraments. We’ll also take a look at the way two distinct groups understand the sacraments – namely, Protestants and Modernists. As you’ll start to see in this episode – and as it will be come clearer throughout this series, both groups have an outsized role in how the understanding of the Sacraments shifted in the Church in the last fifty years.

Jan 08, 2022
This series comes at time when the traditional rite of the Sacraments of the Catholic Church are being suppressed. The series comes at time when it is more important than ever to understand what the sacraments are, why they’re necessary, and what we can do to preserve them.

Crisis Series #50 with Superior General of SSPX: What is the Solution to the Crisis?
Dec 08, 2021
e would be no one better to give the final word in this series than the Superior General of the SSPX, Don Davide Pagliarani. He graciously agreed to take some time from his duties to give us his thoughts on what the traditional restoration of the Church might look like after this major upheaval, and finally, what the answer – what is the solution to the Crisis in the Church.
Crisis Series #49: Father, What Can I Do About the Crisis in the Church?
Dec 03, 2021
Today we'll ask, "Father, what can I do about the Crisis in the Church?" Is there anything I can do about the Crisis? Do I just hunker down in my home and say the rosary? Do I move my family to a traditional Catholic compound and ignore everything that’s happening? Or should I take a more active role, speaking out, and fighting for the rights of the Church? We invited Fr. David Sherry, the Canadian District Superior for the SSPX to join us and give us what we all need right now – some simple, practical advice for what a lay person should be doing right now.
Crisis Series #48: 4 Questions You Need to Ask About the Crisis
Nov 24, 2021
Whether you have seen every episode of this series so far, or have just seen a couple, or maybe none – this is likely the most important episode we’ve done so far. In the next hour and twenty minutes, Father Wiseman will break down the entire Crisis into 4 simple questions. If you answer yes to the first, we’ll move on to the second question, and so on. By the end, if you’ve said yes to all of them, well, congratulations – you hold the same positions that the Society of Saint Pius X does. Think of this as a choose your own adventure book, except it’s about your Faith, and the stakes are infinite.
Interview: Fr. Onoda – Tradition and the History of Catholicism in Japan
Nov 19, 2021
We spoke with Fr. Thomas Onoda earlier in the Spring, just after the Society of Saint Pius X officially opened its first priory in Japan. We spoke with Father for just over 30 minutes or so about his story, the sometimes violent history of Catholicism in Japan, and what he sees for the future of his country. He asked me just before interview if he could say a few words about the special history of Nagasaki in Japan – as an American, I was not going to bring up the horrific bombing of Japan during World War II during this interview – I didn’t know what the proper boundaries are in this case, but I’m so glad he wanted to bring it up. When you hear it, I think you’ll agree it led to one of the most inspiring moments throughout all our episodes on this podcast.
Crisis Series #47: Am I Allowed to Attend an SSPX Mass?
Nov 06, 2021
“Is it ok for me to attend a Mass of the Society of Saint Pius X?” There are many “experts” who claim one – or several – of the following:
1. You can’t fulfill your Sunday obligation at an SSPX chapel.
2 - You could fulfill your obligation, but it would be sinful to go.
3 - it’s not a sin to attend, but be careful, it promotes a schismatic mentality. So in the conclusion of the Crisis in the Church Series’ study of the SSPX itself, we’ll answer those questions, and let you know why it’s actually…. Good to attend.
Crisis Series #46: What About the Other Traditional Mass Communities?
Oct 29, 2021
Among Traditional Catholics, there seems to be a lot of confusion about why there’s a division between the Society of Saint Pius X and these groups. On the surface, they look identical. Both say the Latin Mass, both are orthodox in their sacraments and teaching, the priests wear cassocks, etc. So what’s the problem with the Fraternity of Saint Peter, the Institute of Christ the King, and the others? Is it just a trad version of the Hatfields & McCoys? Fr McFarland explains why objectively, there’s a difference.
Crisis Series #45: Are the New Canonizations Infallible?
Oct 18, 2021
Don Tranquillo will join us once again to look at the question of Canonizations since the time of the Second Vatican Council. Are the New Canonizations infallible? To answer this, we’ll need to see whether or not Canonizations in the past were infallible. It’s commonly understood by most Catholics that Canonizations are one of the things that are infallibly proclaimed by the Pope. How then can we square this seeming infallibility with some of the new saints, who contradict previous saints?
Crisis Series #44: How Can the SSPX Justify What it Does?
Oct 08, 2021
Last week, we looked at the status of the Society of Saint Pius X. Given that there is no regular canonical status for the SSPX, how then, can the priests of the Society exercise their functions? Canon Law is pretty clear on this point – for a priest to exercise his ministry, he must be under the authority and direction of the local bishop, or at the least, under the direct supervision of the Vatican. Since that does not exist, how can the priests of the Society justify, in all good conscience, what they do? Are they simply disobedient rebels?
Crisis Series #43: Schismatic? Excommunicated? Irregular? What’s the Status of the SSPX?
Oct 01, 2021
Today we’ll dive into a question that is very confusing for a lot of faithful – and as you’ll see, it’s confusing for some within the Church itself – what is the official status of the Society of Saint Pius X within the Catholic Church? There are accusations that it is schismatic. Or at the least, that it has a “spirit of schism.” Another common accusation is that the Society is not part of the Catholic Church. There’s a lot of misinformation out there – let’s try to clear it up!
Crisis Series #42 with Bishop Fellay: Were the 1988 Consecrations Justified?
Sep 25, 2021
He, better than anyone, can help us understand what was happening during those pivotal days, and what was going through the mind of the Archbishop as he wrestled with this momentous decision. But besides having an interesting conversation about Church history with someone who was a part of it, we’re also going to ask His Excellency, how can the Society of Saint Pius X justify what the Archbishop did? On the surface, this was an act of disobedience against the Holy Father. According to the swift, severe response from the Vatican just days after, this was a schismatic act. We’ll welcome Bishop Fellay now to help us understand what happened:
Crisis Series #41: The Parallels in Early Years of the SSPX with Today’s Traditional Movement
Sep 11, 2021
In this episode, we’ll be looking at the history of the Society of Saint Pius X up to the point when Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated the bishops in 1988. But it doesn’t seem like history – in fact, some of the events that shaped the SSPX in its early years seem like they are repeated in...
Crisis Series #40: The Dream of Dakar – What’s the Mission of the SSPX?
Sep 03, 2021
Over the last 39 episodes we’ve seen the history of the Crisis, and in the last set of episodes the errors facing Catholics as a result. Now we’re going to get into the response to the Crisis – the traditional Catholic movement. And we certainly can’t talk about this movement without talking about the Society of Saint Pius X. But before we start talking about the history, which we’ll do in Episode 41, we have to look at the mission. What are the guiding principles behind the SSPX? And what led Archbishop Lefebvre to make certain decisions that he did about the organizational structure? He could have done a hundred different things. Why this?
Crisis Series #39: Are Novus Ordo Priests & Bishops Validly Ordained?
Aug 27, 2021
both ceremonies – does that make this sacrament invalid? Are we in the midst of a crisis where all the priests and bishops who were ordained using this rite are not actually priests and bishops? To understand this, we’ll need to look at the form and matter of sacraments and answer a fundamental question – can the Church change the form of sacraments at all? And if the Church is allowed to make these changes, what needs to remain in order for a sacrament to be valid?
Crisis Series #38: Is Pope Benedict Still the Legitimate Pope?
Aug 20, 2021
First, can a pope abdicate? Second, if he can, did Pope Benedict abdicate properly? What’s required for this to happen? Did Pope Benedict leave us a hidden meaning, or a coded message meant for the faithful to find during this process? And third, if this was all done properly, what do we make of the 2013 conclave that elected Pope Francis?
Crisis Series #37: How Can an Indefectible Church Give us Deficient Worship?
Aug 14, 2021
We’ll finish our discussion from last week, all leading to the main question – how can the Church, which is indefectible, give us a rite of worship which is defective? Last week we looked at how the Church could, in fact promulgate errors through an ecumenical, non-dogmatic Council. Then we saw how the Church is not always infallible in its disciplinary laws – so today we’ll continue on that same track – looking at Liturgy. Have there been errors in Catholic Liturgy in the past? Were they corrected? What can history, and logic, tell us about the infallibility of the Church in its Liturgy? And can we be 100% certain about any of this, or does prudence have a role to play?
Crisis Series #36: How Can an Infallible Church Teach Error?
Aug 08, 2021
Today we’re joined by Fr. MacGillivray to ask one question: How is it that the Church, which is supposed to be indefectible, can give us a rite of worship, the Novus Ordo Mass, which is, at the least, problematic, if not defective? We won’t be able to answer this specifically today, since this question opens up many other questions we need to answer first, namely, how can the Church, through an ecumenical council, promulgate errors? Then we’ll begin to look at whether or not the Church can be infallible in its discipline – which is where the Liturgy falls.
Crisis Series #35 w/ Fr. Loop: Must All Catholics Accept Vatican II? Is it Infallible?
Jul 30, 2021
In the past years – especially very recently, it has become a mandate for all Catholics to unequivocally accept all the teachings of Vatican II – as a sort of litmus test as to whether or not you’re a good Catholic. The SSPX does not accept all the teachings of Vatican II. Fr. Loop will join us to explain why – but first we’ll start with the infallibility of the Council
Crisis Series #34 w/ Don Tranquillo: Is Sedevacantism the Answer to the Crisis?
Jul 23, 2021
This flows directly from the last episode on obedience, and its limits – but takes it to next step entirely. There are several different categories or theories within the sedevacantist structure. We’ll discuss a couple of the most widespread ideas, but broadly, they all share a single disturbing commonality – that those who hold these ideas will necessarily open the door to the wholesale destruction of the hierarchal Catholic Church.
Crisis Series #33 w/ Fr. Wiseman: Limits of Obedience in the Face of Suppression
Jul 20, 2021
This episode is the linchpin of the Crisis Series - pulling in all the concepts we've already learned, and setting the stage for the rest of the episodes. In short, are there limits to obeying a higher authority? Are traditional Catholics just being disobedient and spiteful? What can we learn from this episode about Traditiones Custodes?
Crisis Series #32 w/ Fr. Robinson: Can Non-Catholics Go to Heaven? The Church vs. Fr. Feeney
Jul 09, 2021
We’ll finish where we left off last episode, when we discussed the errors of Father Leonard Feeney, and today we’ll look at the doctrine of “No Salvation Outside the Church.” What does this mean? In order to attain heaven, is it a strict necessity to be baptized with water, and be a practicing Catholic? Are there three baptisms, or just one? What does the Ordinary Magisterium of the Church say on these matters? What about St. Thomas Aquinas, and what about Archbishop Lefebvre – if anyone in the twentieth century was fighting against the impulses of ecumenism that was sweeping the Church, and this doctrine, it would be him – so did he agree with Fr. Feeney?
Crisis Series #31 w/ Fr. Robinson: The Feeneyite Error – Overreacting to Modernism
Jul 02, 2021
Today we’ll start the first of two episodes with Fr. Paul Robinson about the doctrine “Outside the Church there is No Salvation.” And today, we’ll be speaking about Fr. Leonard Feeney, and the organizations that he was a part of: the Saint Benedict Center, and the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart. Why discuss this doctrine, and this movement, commonly known as "Feeneyism" during this point in the Crisis in the Church Series? Because this movement, which started before the 2nd Vatican Council, contains stark warnings about the current traditional movement in the 21st century.
Crisis Series #30 w/ Fr. Reuter: Hermeneutic of Continuity – Big Word, Big Logical Leap [updated]
Jun 28, 2021
Today’s episode takes us into the disconnect between two periods of the Catholic Church: the time before 1965, and the Post-Conciliar - or after Vatican II - Catholic Church. Everyone in the Catholic Church, from Archbishop Lefebvre to Pope Francis, agrees that something changed between these two periods. But there are vast differences between the two in how to explain the transition. Father Steven Reuter will join us to explain a theory that gained a lot of traction under Pope Benedict – the Hermeneutic of Continuity. In short, the central question is, “can both periods of the Catholic Church live in agreement?”
Crisis Series #29 w/ Don Tranquillo: Collegiality – More Dangerous Than You Knew
Jun 18, 2021
We’re pleased to welcome Don Mauro Tranquillo to discuss one of the least well known, but arguably, most vital of the errors to come from the Second Vatican Council, Collegiality. Collegiality, as Father will discuss, is not just about democratizing the Church, but would completely upend the doctrine of the Church regarding Bishops, and by it, do great danger to both the Episcopacy and the Papacy.
Should You Attend a Vocations Retreat? w/ Fr. John McFarland
Jun 14, 2021
In this interview, originally published last Summer, we speak with Fr. John McFarland, who is the Vocations Director for the US District of the Society of Saint Pius X. He discusses the types of vocations, who should think about entering the seminary, what kind of person it takes and much more!
Crisis Series #28 w/ Fr. Loop: Is Religious Liberty Worse Than Abortion?
Jun 11, 2021
Today we’re speaking with Fr. Jonathan Loop about Religious Liberty. This, like Ecumenism, is one of the major exports of the Second Vatican Council. By it, we’re led to believe that someone’s religion is their conscience, and no one else should tell them how to believe. But Father Loop will explain to us how, while this sounds very nice, is completely missing the mark on what Liberty is – and how the Church has changed from its previous practice, of Religious Toleration.
Crisis Series #27 w/ Fr. Summers: Why Ecumenism Makes Catholicism Schizophrenic
Jun 04, 2021
This week, we’re speaking with Fr. Patrick Summers, the District Superior of the Society of Saint Pius X in Asia about Ecumenism. Ecumenism, as we have seen in Episode 23, was one of the driving factors behind the Novus Ordo Mass – but today we’ll explore the other effects of Ecumenism on the Catholic Church, and how, instead of being the new way to evangelize, as was blindly promised, threatens to turn Catholicism into a schizophrenic religion.
Crisis Series #26: “Really, Father?” Fr. Franks Answers Questions & Objections
May 28, 2021
A slightly different episode for you this week, as we’re not tackling a new topic, but getting some questions answered that some of our listeners and viewers asked about the recent set of episodes on the Novus Ordo Mass. Father Franks joined us to go a little deeper on questions of validity of the New Mass, why this rite is different than other rites the Church has had in the past, and bluntly, how does the Society of Saint Pius X have any authority in these matters?
Questions with Fr. #28: Can I Go to Any Latin Mass I Want?
May 14, 2021
In this episode, we’re tackling 1 question that is very often posed to our priests, so we decided to make a full episode on this one question – simply, it’s “Father, can I go this Mass or that Mass?” Or put another way, "Are all Latin Masses the same?"
Crisis Series #25 w/ Fr. Robinson: Should Catholics Attend Novus Ordo Mass?
May 10, 2021
On this episode, we’re talking with Fr. Paul Robinson, the Prior of Saint Isidores in Denver, Colorado, about the practical matters that Catholics should know about the Novus Ordo Mass. Over the last two episodes, we’ve looked at the inherent problems in this new formulation of the New Mass. Today, we’ll see what that means for us as Catholics. Do these problems mean that the New Mass is invalid? Or should we even be attending the New Mass, if we have the choice?
Crisis Series #24 w/ Fr. Franks: The New Mass: Proclaiming a New Theology
May 04, 2021
We’ll continue our discussion of the Novus Ordo Mass today with Fr. Paul-Isaac Franks, professor of Theology at Saint Marys College. Last time, we looked at the New Mass’s Ecumenical intent. Today, we’ll see how the New Mass is a direct expression of the New Theology that was condemned by Pope Pius XII. But this problematic theology came back in full force during the second Vatican council, and when the New Mass was developed, it drew on this new theology, putting aside much of the traditional theology contained in the Church’s Magisterium.
Crisis Series #23 w/ Fr. Reuter: How the New Mass Was Made for Protestants
Apr 27, 2021
We’re starting our 4-episode look at the Novus Ordo Mass, which was introduced in 1969. We’ll be covering a different aspect during each of these episodes, today, looking at the New Mass, and how it was developed as an Ecumenical Rite. We know from previous episodes that the Church had pivoted in its relationship to other religions. But the New Mass is a striking example of this Ecumenist spirit – and Fr. Reuter will explain to us how nearly every change that was made was done to appease Non-Catholics.
Crisis Series #22 w/ Fr. McFarland: Everything Must Change! Post-Conciliar “Reforms”
Apr 16, 2021
With this episode, we’re starting our study of the period after the Second Vatican Council. Over the next twenty or so episodes, we’ll be diving into topics like the Novus Ordo Mass, Religious Liberty, Collegiality, the Hermeneutic of Continuity, Feenyism, Obedience and its Limits, Sedevacantism, Ecumenism, Infallibility, the new Canonizations, Supplied Jurisdiction, and much more. But today, we’ll start with the reforms that started to take place just after the Second Vatican Council. Father John-Mark McFarland will take us through the immediate aftermath of the council, and show us how the Council, and the “Spirit of Vatican II” meant an immediate overhaul, and deformation of everything in the Church.
Crisis Series #21 with Fr. MacGillivray: The Radical Transformations of 1965
Apr 08, 2021
We’re going to wrap up our discussion on the course of the Second Vatican Council today with Fr. MacGillivray by looking at the fourth and final Session of the Council, which took place in 1965. To do this, we’ll hone in 4 of the most important of constitutions that were passed, dealing with Religious Liberty, Divine Revelation, Ecumenism, and more. These documents mark a definitive shift in how the Catholic Church considered these important issues – and makes 1965 perhaps the most momentous year in the recent history of the Catholic Church. If you’ve seen last episode, you’ll be well equipped to identify the ambiguity and the “time bombs” in these documents that would shape the way the Catholic Church looks today.

Mar 25, 2021
Today, we’ll continue our look at the Second Vatican Council, this time looking at the 2nd and 3rd Sessions, in 1963 and 1964. We’ll see how the liberal Rhine Group continued their full-on assault of the preparations for the Council, and how they gained an ally in the newly-elected Pope Paul VI, who cleared the way for even more of their work to go on, unhindered. We’ll also take a moment to discover the problem with the Second Vatican Council documents – at first glance, many of them seem quite orthodox. But these documents were both blatantly ambiguous, and also hiding what would become known as Neo-Modernist Time Bombs. We’ll see what that all means, and what effect this will have on the Holy Catholic Church

Crisis Series #19 with Fr. MacGillivray: The Disastrous Start to Vatican II
Mar 19, 2021
Today, we’re diving into the Second Vatican Council itself with Father William MacGillivray. This is the first of three episodes on the Council. After having reviewed the preparation for the Council in the last two episodes, today we’ll see what happened during the first two sessions, or the first two years of the Council. We’ll see how the Neo-Modernists came to the council absolutely prepared – and in effect caused the first session to end with nothing accomplished, and how a group of Council Fathers – the Rhine Group – would go back home after the first session and prepare to reshape the course of the rest of the Council.
Crisis Series #18 with Fr. Loop: The Secret Work That Would Take Over the Council
Mar 16, 2021
In this episode, we're happy to welcome back Fr. Jonathan Loop, the Principal of ICA in Post Falls, ID, to discuss the second part of the preparations for the Second Vatican Council. Last time, we saw the good preparations that were done, and caused many, including Archbishop Lefebvre, to be very optimistic about the Council. Today, we'll see the behind the scenes work that was carried out by the liberal Council Fathers, before the Council even started. This would have disastrous effects for the entire Council, and the intervening years of the post-conciliar Church.
Crisis Series #17 with Fr. Loop: The Excellent Preparations for Vatican II
Mar 05, 2021
We're happy to welcome back Fr. Jonathan Loop, the Principal of Immaculate Conception Academy in Post Falls, ID, to discuss the preparations that were carried out for the Second Vatican Council. We'll take a quick look at the First Vatican Council, and what effect that had on this second council, as well as why Pope John XXIII wanted to convoke this council. Then we'll take a look at the preparations themselves. As you'll see, they were extensive, and beyond some troubling details, they were in fact, very traditional, and caused Archbishop Lefebvre to be optimistic about the good the council could achieve!

Feb 17, 2021
We’re happy to welcome back Fr. Dominique Bourmaud, the Pastor of St. Vincent’s in Kansas City, and the author of One Hundred Years of Modernism, to discuss the New Theology that gripped the Church in the mid-1900’s. If you’re listening on the podcast, this episode is one best viewed on YouTube, as the corresponding text will be very helpful in your understanding.

Feb 06, 2021
Today we’re speaking with Fr. Dominique Bourmaud, the Pastor of St. Vincent's in Kansas City, and the author of "One Hundred Years of Modernism," on the topic of Existentialism. Father will explore how this philosophy came about as a result of Modernism, and then directly influenced the Neo-Modernists in the twentieth century who would be the ringleaders of the New Theology of the Catholic Church. If you’re listening on the podcast, this episode is one best viewed on youtube, as the corresponding text will be very helpful in your understanding.
Crisis Series #14 with Fr. McFarland: Why Freedom & Equality Aren’t Catholic
Jan 14, 2021
Today, we will look at Modernism through the lens of the recent encyclical by Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti, and how this encyclical promotes the French revolutionary ideas of liberty, equality, and fraternity. We’ll see how these three ideas, though they sound very nice, are not based in Catholic doctrine, and in fact, were condemned by Pope St. Pius X just over 100 years ago, when French Catholics formed the Sillon, a very popular Catholic social movement. This movement was flawed, and condemned, because it tried to marry the principles of the revolution to the Kingship of Christ.
Crisis Series #13 with Fr. Robinson: Modernist Popes in Their Own Words
Jan 08, 2021
Today, we’ll compare side by side the viewpoints of the modern popes, and examine them in the light of Pope St. Pius X’s encyclical, Pascendi. Within the span of thirty minutes, we’ll see how the modern Church has perfectly followed the modernist playbook that Pope St. Pius X predicted just a hundred years before. Nearly every modern pronouncement from the Vatican has been perfectly predictable….
Crisis Series #12 with Fr. Robinson: Modernist Catholics aren’t Catholic
Jan 05, 2021
Last episode, Father gave us insight into modernist philosophies by looking at the encyclical Pascendi. Today, we’ll look at today’s Catholicism, which is completely immersed in Modernism. We’ll start by asking if modernist Catholics can even be considered Catholics. Then we’ll look at each of the major parts of our faith through the lens of Modernism, then through the lens of tradition and see how completely different they are. Modernists have changed our interpretation of scripture, the sacraments, the catechism, and most notably, the liturgy and the Catholic priesthood.
Crisis in the Church Series Recap: Episodes 1 – 11
Dec 23, 2020
This week on the Crisis in the Church series, we’re taking a break from our normal interviews for Christmas, but we wanted to do an episode recapping what we’ve talked about over the last three months. That way if you’ve missed an episode - or a few - you can get up to speed as we continue with our series next week. Crisis Series #11 with Fr. Robinson: How Pope St. Pius X Combatted Modernism
Dec 18, 2020
Today we’re joined by Fr. Paul Robinson, the Prior of Saint Isidore’s in Denver, Colorado. Last episode, we learned from Fr. Franks about the background of Modernism, and today, in our explanation of modernist thought, we’ll see how this modernist ideology twists the very nature of religion. We’ll take a look back at more recent history, and see how the Pachamama and Assisi scandals have their root in the exact same errors that Pope St. Pius X warned the Catholic Church about in his groundbreaking encyclical Pascendi.
Crisis Series #10 with Fr. Franks: Modernist Infiltration – The Beginnings
Dec 17, 2020
First, we’ll see how it sprang up in Protestant theology, then, how Modernism tried to give an entirely new interpretation of scripture and the Divinity of Our Lord, and finally, how these errors spread into the minds of some Catholic theologians in the late nineteenth century.
Crisis Series #9 with Fr. Sherry: What’s Wrong with the World?
Dec 04, 2020
We've finished our study of Liberalism - Before we start covering Modernism in detail, we wanted to take an episode to answer a listener's question about the Crisis in the Church: "What's wrong with the world? Is there a connection between the chaos in the post-Conciliar Church and the chaos that we are seeing in secular society?" We reached out to Fr. David Sherry, who is the District Superior of Canada for the SSPX. We'll spend 40 minutes on the topic, and by the end, you'll have an answer to solve nearly all the problems the world is facing!

Apostolate Focus: Prison Apostolate in West Texas
Nov 13, 2020
Today we’re speaking with Mr. Mike Banschbach, who runs a prison ministry out of Midland, Texas. Mike’s work, and the efforts of Fr. Katzaroff, as well as the faithful at St. Michael the Archangel chapel have provided some really awe-inspiring stories, as you’ll hear in the next thirty minutes or so. And far from being forgotten, these inmates are receiving the Faith and the Sacraments, not to mention love, and support – many for the first time in their lives.
Crisis Series #6 with Fr. Reuter: Liberal Catholics Don’t Exist
Nov 12, 2020
We're speaking with Fr. Steven Reuter for the culmination on our study of Liberalism, by seeing how it's completely impossible for a Catholic to be a Liberal, and a Liberal to be a Catholic. Yes, there are "Liberal Catholics" but can they truly say they are Catholics, in the full sense of the word?
Crisis Series #5 with Fr. Reuter: What is Liberalism?
Nov 10, 2020
This week, we'll learn more about liberalism, through the eyes of one of the great pontiffs of the last two centuries, Pope Leo XIII, and his condemnation of Liberalism in his encyclical "Libertas".
