The debut (pilot) episode of The Joni Mitchell Podcast with host Zachary Scot Johnson!
Each
episode, Minnesota based singer/ songwriter and actor Zachary Scot
Johnson will be joined by a guest to discuss their favorite Joni
Mitchell record.
For this first episode, Zach is joined by fellow
Minnesota singer/ songwriter Vicky Emerson to discuss what she loves
about Joni's 1996 compilation record 'Misses'.
In addition to
discussing the companion to Joni's first-ever Greatest Hits package,
they hit on other songwriters, why "Blue" is a perfect record, Vicky's
UFO experience, why Minnesota and Cheapo Records rock and Zach performs 2
songs off of "Misses". He performs "A Case of You" accompanying himself
on piano and violin, and "The Magdalene Laundries", accompanying
himself on guitar and mandolin.
Vicky's suggestions for music to
listen to include Sturgill Simpson, Lori McKenna, Margot Price, Matty
Charles and Katie Rose and Frankie Lee.
